Evolution Group Of Companies Founders, Gwen and Ben Martin were honoured to attend the Annual Delta Firefighters Mayor’s Charity Ball this year in support of the incredible work being done by the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society.
At Evolution Group of Companies, we are proud annual supporters of the Delta Firefighters Society and the meaningful impact they continue to make within our community. What stands out most is their commitment to ensuring children in Delta have access to nutritious food during the school day — something many families are quietly struggling with during challenging economic times.
The Delta Fire Fighters Healthy Snack Program, launched in 2021, was created to support children and youth in need throughout our community. Funded through firefighter payroll deductions and generous community donors, the program recognizes the critical role nutrition plays in a child’s ability to learn, focus, and thrive.
Today, the program reaches approximately 3,000 children every day by delivering healthy breakfast items, snacks, and lunch options directly to schools across Delta. What makes this initiative especially remarkable is that it is entirely volunteer-run. Off-duty Delta firefighters personally purchase, organize, and deliver food to local schools each month, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting students.
Beyond the meals themselves, the program is helping remove the stigma often associated with asking for help. There is no charge to schools or students, and the focus remains on dignity, compassion, and community support.
We would like to thank the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society, all of the volunteers, donors, and organizers of the Charity Ball for the work they do to strengthen our community and support local families.
