How Retail Orders Move Through Evolution
-
Step 01Purchase order or EDI receipt and routing-guide capture.
Evolution receives the order information and captures the retailer instructions supplied for that shipment. The team checks routing, ship dates, case-pack rules, labelling, documentation, and delivery requirements before work begins.
-
Step 02Inventory allocation by case, SKU, or pallet.
Available inventory is matched to the order at the required handling level. Quantities and product identifiers are reviewed so a case, mixed-SKU shipment, or full pallet follows the approved order instructions.
-
Step 03Pick, pack, label, and palletize.
The warehouse team prepares each shipment to the retailer's requirements, including carton markings, UCC-128 or GS1-128 labels, pallet configuration, and any approved value-added work. This gives brands one operating path for standard orders and more involved retail programs.
-
Step 04ASN, documentation, appointment, and carrier coordination.
Evolution prepares the required shipment information and coordinates the handoff details provided for the order. Documentation, advance shipment notice requirements, delivery appointments, and carrier instructions are aligned before dispatch.
-
Step 05Shipment confirmation, reconciliation, and exception reporting.
Once the order moves, the team confirms shipment details and checks the completed work against the order. Quantity differences, instruction conflicts, or other exceptions are documented and raised for resolution rather than left for the retailer to discover.
Visibility and Exception Management
Retail requirements can change between purchase orders. Evolution reviews the order data and routing instructions against the client-approved requirements on file, including applicable GS1 logistic label guidance. If SKU data, quantities, ship dates, routing, labels, appointments, or documentation do not align, the team raises the discrepancy with the client before the unresolved issue affects the next operating decision.
When an approved instruction changes, Evolution coordinates the update across the people responsible for picking, packing, paperwork, and carrier handoff. Clients receive order, inventory, and shipment status through the operating communication agreed for their program, with exceptions separated from routine updates so the right people can act.
Built for Established Multi-Channel Brands
Evolution brings more than a decade of fulfillment experience, 135,000 square feet across three locations, and a team of 65 people. The company has shipped to thousands of retail locations across Canada and the US, with experience in fashion and apparel, jewelry, cosmetics, lifestyle products, pet products, and housewares.
The service is designed for established brands managing retail alongside other sales channels and needing a 3PL for B2B wholesale orders with clear operating ownership. The fit starts at a minimum of 2,500 outbound units or 500 pallet moves per month. That volume gives both teams enough operating context to plan requirements, seasonal peaks, and onboarding work around a repeatable distribution program.
Plan Your B2B Retail Fulfillment
Share your monthly order, case, and pallet profile; retailer channels; SKU, case-pack, and label requirements; EDI, ASN, and routing-guide needs; seasonal peaks; and target onboarding date. Evolution will review the operating fit and identify the requirements that need confirmation before launch.
